A step-by-step guide on how to achieve the ultimate MVP Lifestyle: Easy steps every basketball fan should follow.

Are you the best player on your team or you just hold down a spot at the end of that rustic bench? Here’s some good news! Either way, you have the chance to be the best in your field!

As Scottie Thompson, the PBA’s 2022 MVP once said, it is his “Hard work, Discipline, and Faith” that brought him to where he’s at now. These three core values kept him going on and off-court since the beginning of his basketball career: the true MVP from the ground up!

Becoming the best is not just an overnight success. It takes time and patience with a lot of hard work and consistency in keeping your focus on improving every single aspect of the game of life.

Get ready to become the best version of yourself because we are going to share some tips, straight from Scottie’s core values, that will improve your skills on and off-court — A real-life MVP.

STEP 1. DO THE HARDWORK

ELIMINATE EXCUSES

Yup! There's really no shortcut to achieving your dreams and goals. That's right, we said it, THERE. IS. NO. EXCUSES.

When you're tired, hungry, upset or stressed, it's easy to feel like you can't do anything right. These emotional distractions hold you back from your ability to improve.

What if we told you that your emotions are just getting in the way of your success, and you can control these feelings by looking at any situation from a different perspective; eliminate negative thoughts and emotions and accept that events are not always within our control. When we focus on what we CAN do instead of what we cannot, reaching our goal is a breeze!

SHOW UP AND DON’T HOLD BACK

If you're not giving 100%, it's time to re-evaluate. Whether it’s time to train, play or practice, put your best effort because that’s what MVPs do. Remember, the fastest way to be the best is to start moving like you are already the best.

If you are really dedicated to your dreams and goals, then you must act on it NO MATTER WHAT.

STEP 2 : BE DISCIPLINED

TRAIN YOUR BODY

It is not enough that you just know how to play, it is essential to train your body in order to win.

Don't worry because you don't need to bulk up like a bodybuilder to be strong on court, what you need is a strong core and a good balance. You don't need to be fast all the time like a track & field athlete, you just need to be quick when it counts.

Spend time enhancing your strength, mobility, speed, and agility. Through training, you will develop the essential muscle memory that will help you win the game effortlessly. Improving your athleticism will translate to both on and off-court performance.

PRACTICE, HUSTLE, PRACTICE!!!

We don’t mean to burst your bubble, but this is what’s true -- There is NO substitute for practice.

Practice isn't just about squeezing in a few hours every day or week; it's about making it a part of your lifestyle. Sure, some people are born with natural talent and might pick up on things faster than others, but that's not going to make up for how much time MVPs spent practicing and hustling!

Keep in mind that the only way to become better at something is through consistent practice, discipline, and repetition.

STEP 3 : HAVE FAITH

BE FEARLESS

You surely know the Filipino saying “Tiwala lang!”, so have faith in yourself that you can do anything you set your mind to. So, program your mind to success and watch yourself do amazing things!

A real MVP never fears failure! If life knocks you down, you don’t have to stay down there but you can rise back up again. In the game of basketball and life, when you’re afraid to fail, you’re usually afraid to try. And when you fail to try, that is when you actually lost.

Shift your mindset and remember that failure is temporary. Use it as a learning experience. Use it as a steppingstone towards success and you will surely be the MVP of your life!

DRESS THE PART

ACTION is FAITH in motion. Meaning: You only act on something that you believe in.

If you have faith that your team can win even though your opponent is stronger and better, then you would definitely go and put your 100% effort on winning the basketball game. If you believe and have faith that you have a chance on someone you like even though he or she is way out of your league, then you would still entertain or court them! You would always GO FOR IT, because you hold on to that faith, to that chance.

Part of holding that faith is also taking action to dress the part and show up as the best version of you. Moving and acting like an MVP includes dressing up like them. You get the chance to be literally in the MVP’s shoes (not to mention, shirts and cap too!)

On top of being dressed as an MVP, you also get to do what they do. In this case, it means playing around the court at your peak performance while being embraced by comfort using your new ST1 Black and Gold Colorway basketball shoes every step of the way.

This is how you become one with the MVP and live the ultimate MVP lifestyle.

Scottie Thompson has already decided what’s best for him.

It’s time for you to step up and make that decision too.
